I forgot to mention... when I got home from Moscow and walked in my room, I was a bit surprised to find that Alla had cleaned and rearranged all of my possessions. She's been pretty good at staying out of my room so far, but I guess this past weekend she just couldn't help herself. All the objects on the shelves and desk had been rearranged, my bed was made, but the weirdest part was when I opened my closet and found that all my clothes had been folded and my suitcases moved around. I mean, everything in my room had been moved. Apparently moms are the same whatever country you're in. I love Alla.

ReplyDeleteHello Laurie, this is Mike L. I'm happy to hear that you're getting along well in Russia, and that you are finally drifting through the seedier side of life, such as frequenting whiskey bars. The blog has been great fun to read so far, and I definitely look forwards to your next post.
ReplyDeleteIgnore my blog, it is for rants and moments of venting about the world, or philosophy, and is usually anonymous, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give you a quick hello on here.
Also, ask your delightful mother if she would be kind enough to part with her noodle kugel recipe that we had at your birthday. I've been fiddling around in the kitchen, but the recipe's I have been trying have been coming in sub par to her own (I wouldn't say that the kugel is haunting me, but I do wake up wondering if I'm missing out on extraordinary deliciousness for my lack.)
Take care, keep safe, have fun, and don't make any decisions that I would.
